Why Yo-Yo Dieting Doesn’t Work

With more than 30 years’ experience of keeping fit, I have seen and maybe even tried pretty much every crazy diet out there, from Atkins to Keto to 5 – 2 and so on. What these yo-yo dieting trends have in common is that they’re not sustainable. The dieting industry is a multi-million-pound industry, designed to provide short-term success and long-term failure. They sell you a dream, and then sell you another dream!

Fat Loss

Before we go any further, let’s get it right – what we really want is to lose fat, not weight. We want our body fat levels to be at a reasonable level, so that we are healthy and have a lower risk of illnesses such as type 2 diabetes and heart disease.
As a bonus, we also look good. Who’s going to look better – the rugby player who weighs 95kg and has 12% body fat, or the out-of-shape guy who weighs 95kg and has 30% body fat. And so, we aim to add muscle and lose fat.

Meal Plans

The most important thing to remember is that you need to burn more calories than you consume. The easiest way to do this is to watch your calorific intake. It’s all very well going to the gym two or three times a week, but progress will be extremely slow if you don’t also change your food intake and lifestyle.
Working with me, you will learn how to lose fat the right way while gaining lean muscle tissue that will help you stay in shape. I don’t believe in extreme calorie reduction or fad diets, and you don’t have to cut out all your favourite sweet treats.
You can continue eating nutritious foods that you enjoy eating and exercise to ensure a calorie deficit. Following my meal plans, you will gain enough nutrients to function properly in terms of energy levels and mental capacity, as well as gaining muscle tissue and losing ugly body fat. Your diet will include a good balance of complex carbohydrates, good-quality protein, and healthy fats, with an allowance for a treat every once in a while!I I CAN DESIGN PLANS AROUND YOUR SPECIFIC NEEDS MEAL PLANS £160 FOR 8 WEEKS INCLUDING A WEEKLY CHECK IN

Rules to Remember

The 80/20 Rule
80% of what you eat should be healthy and nutritious food and 20% should be whatever you fancy.
Don’t Deny Yourself
If you really enjoy a pint of beer or a glass of Prosecco every once in a while, you don’t have to avoid them altogether.
Check Body Fat Percentage
Monitor your progress by keeping an eye on your body fat percentage, not just the scales.
Play The Long Game
The slower you lose weight, the more you will adapt to the lifestyle and the more success you will have; weight loss should be no more than 0.5kg to 1kg per week.
